Lounge Lizard is much more lightweight, and cpu processing has not been an issue: I've used it live at low latencies with no problems. Alongside my Native Instruments version of the Rhodes, the Lounge Lizard does seem slightly more digital and synth-y, but the Native Instruments uses hundreds of megabytes of samples, and it is extremely inflexible: one sound is pretty much all you get. I've personally never used an authentic Rhodes or Wurlitzer piano, but I use them a lot in my music and are familiar with how they sound in most modern recordings. You can easily save and organize your presets within the plugin as well.

If you want a synth that sounds exactly like a Rhodes or Wurlitzer, this may not be the best tool. This is a smart soft synth that gives you deep control over the electric sound, with incredible sounding results. Immediately, you'll see controls that are beyond the standard soft synth parameters: Stiffness, Tine, Geometry, Damper, etc. It is not based on samples from the real Rhodes or Wurlitzer pianos, yet it sounds surprisingly real, and it infinitely more flexible. It is very responsive and has a vast array of tools for everything from clean and in your face DI sounds to crunchy, overdriven, mic'd up textures. This offering by Waves is considerably more versatile and provides a completely different flavour, yet just as recognisable as the Scarbee library. I've been using Native Instruments Scarbee to date for sampled Wurli and it is very good. My primary instrument is keyboards and my favourite electric piano is the Wurli 200A. I also wrote the following review for the Waves website: They have an introductory price of $39 which is a no brainer IMHO. The Waves offering is a different sound and somewhat more versatile but is just as instantly recognisable as a Wurli 200A. Up to date, I've been using the Native Instruments Scarbee A200 which has been my pick of the virtual Wurli's and is very good.

For the last three or so hours, I've been playing intently with the newest Waves electric piano VSTi, the Electric 200 which is a very nice emulation of my all-time favourite electric piano, and one of my favourite instruments full stop, the Wurlitzer 200A.
